Paradise Elementary is a newly constructed K-6 school. Current student enrollment is 614 with the average class size of 24 students. We have an Early French Immersion program which began during the 2006-07 school year. Our program also includes Intensive Core French for students in Grade 6. Paradise Elementary has a total of 38 full-time and 3 part-time educational staff, which includes 26.25 classroom teachers, 4.0 units for Non-Categorical Special Services and 1 unit for Criteria C support. We have a full-time guidance counselor, music specialists (1.5 units), physical education specialists (1.5 units), a full-time learning resource teacher, two full-time administrators, as well as the support of 6 student assistants and one teacher assistant for French Immersion. In addition to the staff based at the school, we have access to itinerant District Office personnel in the areas of speech-language pathology, educational psychology, and mathematics. There is also a band instructor who offers instruction to interested students in Grade 5 and 6. Three band rehearsals are scheduled per 7 day cycle. The school has the services of two secretaries as well.
