Frank Roberts Junior High, Home of the Ravens, is located at 350 Foxtrap Access Road, Conception Bay South. It has a student enrollment of 554 students from grades seven to nine and a teaching staff of 34. The school motto, Striving for Excellence, describes the focus on learning that exists in our school. Our Wall of Honour can be viewed as you enter the school. Frank Roberts Junior High also promotes a safe and caring school environment through its RAVENheart program which helps to develop caring and responsible young adults. The school currently offers both Early and late French Immersion programming to interested students. A strong fine arts program also exists providing instruction in choral performance, concert and jazz bands. Opportunities also exist for students to partake in drama performances, art club mural projects and public speaking in both official languages through assemblies and competitions. Our school, through the Robotics and Video Production clubs, allows students to be on the cutting edge of technology. With the assistance of parent volunteers, breakfast is provided to students and staff three mornings a week. Teacher and parent volunteers coach teams in soccer, badminton, volleyball, basketball, hockey, ultimate Frisbee, cheerleading and dance team. A student newspaper is published and the School Spirit Council, our student leadership group, hosts and plans a variety of activities and events throughout the school year. These activities are designed to promote student wellness, school spirit and community involvement while providing opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate leadership abilities.
