Bishops College is a senior high school (Levels I - IV) located in St. John's, Newfoundland and currently services the West End of the city. Our student population is approximately 600 with 35 faculty members, four student assistants, 2 secretaries and a number of support staff. Originally built in 1959 Bishops College is entering its fifth decade as an educational institute. We offer a strong Advanced Placement program, French Immersion and a Challenging Needs program.

Bishops College offers a wide variety of courses (approximately 130) to all 4 levels of students. We are proud to be consistently in the top five high schools in overall number of academic scholarships awarded throughout the province and, in 1998 and 2002 Bishops College students won more provincial government scholarships than any other Newfoundland school. We have an active student body taking part in a full range of athletic teams which are very competitive at the provincial level. Clubs and other groups also operate at our school and provide an outlet for many creative and innovative ideas. The current list of groups is as follows: Math Club, Youth Action Committee, Robotics Team, Leisure Pals, Concert and Jazz Band, Several Choirs, Model UN, Drama, Improv Team, Public Speaking, Graduation and Yearbook Committees

Bishops College is committed to excellence and equity, our goal being “Quality Education Today - for Tomorrow - for All”. We are a community of learners that believes in the uniqueness and importance of the individual and in the empowerment of all students to succeed in an ever-changing world. We involve students, parents and the community at large in decision-making about learning and school life. We strive to offer students a wide range of learning opportunities in a caring, secure, and creative environment, one that motivates and reinforces a sense of self-worth and mutual respect and promotes the intellectual, social, spiritual and physical development of each individual.
