Pathways to Programming and Graduation is a framework that enable teachers to tailor the curriculum to meet the individual strengths and needs of each student. Pathways is the educational component of the ISSP and provides the framework for the ISSP team to implement the accommodations and supports a student needs. It describes the supports and accommodations to the provincial curriculum that a student needs as well as any additional programming in areas other than the prescribed curriculum that the student needs. The Eastern School District provides schools with a wide range of personnel to support students with special needs. Programming decisions are made by the ISSP team Students receive support within schools from classroom teachers, non-categorical special education teachers, categorical special education teachers, school counselors and student assistants.. The school district also has itinerant teachers, school psychologists and speech/language pathologists available to support students and teachers.
