The Newfoundland International Student Education Program (NISEP) welcomes students from other countries into educational opportunities in Newfoundland. All NISEP students are placed in regular classes in ESDNL schools and supported by English as a Second Language tutors.

NISEP offers international students a chance to "live and learn" while being immersed in a new culture and the English language. While at the same time International students enrich the lives of Newfoundland students and promote cross-cultural understanding and international friendships.

NISEP currently encompasses students from Brazil, China, Korea, Mexico, and Taiwan. Students from the NISEP program are placed in both rural and urban areas/schools. The majority of enrolled International students reside in Homestay placements with local Newfoundland families and are monitored by experienced homestay coordinators.
