From late April to early June, the students of St. Bernard's Elementary School brushed up on their watercolour techniques with local artist Amber LeDrew-Bonvarlez. Amber has taught students from Kindergarten through Grade Six how to paint with watercolours, as well as paint their own "Tickle Kid", a style of character that Amber has created and depicts in her own works. Thank you, Amber, for sharing your passion for art with our students! We truly enjoyed it.

The Watercolours in Witless Bay project was funded by the Eastern Education Foundation.

There were many smiling faces at St. Andrew's Elementary on June 9th as many children were anxiously awaiting the official opening of the St. Andrew's playground. The students and staff were joined by many special guests who all contributed to making the playground a reality for the school and neighbourhood community. It was a great day as Principal Conway thanked Hickman/Chrysler, City of St. John's and our school community for their generous support of the playground project.
